Born in Toronto and raised in Bethesda, Maryland, Jesse Cao Long is a Chinese-American actor and writer based in New York. He is currently a third-year MFA Acting student at Columbia University.

Recent theatre credits include The Far Country​ at the Yale Rep; Fish Meat at the Connelly Theater; A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Flea; Short Stack 2 at La MaMa (Ma-Yi Theater Company); and The Rise and Rise of Daniel RocketMeasure for MeasureThe Orangery, and Karl, or the Fog at Columbia University.

Aside from theatre, he has also worked for in-house legal at a tech company, been a research assistant to an arts professor and dean and to a former NYT arts editor, tutored just about every subject imaginable, done sales calls and customer support for a startup, and worked at The Kitchen and the NYCLU. But every job has only paled to his first, stamping and re-shelving books at a Montgomery County Public Library at age 12.

He holds a BA in History (specializations in Modern East Asia and 20th C. America) from Columbia University. ​He speaks Mandarin fluently.
